IELTS Exam : Listening Module
Duration of Listening Module
  • Listening is the first module in the IELTS Test and takes 30 minutes. It consists of   
    4 sections of increasing difficulty and there is a total of 40 questions to answer.

  • The candidate will be allowed to hear 4 sections of pre-recorded discussions and
    has to answer questions.

  • The text is played once only. At the end of section 4 you will be given an extra 10
    minutes to transfer your answers to the listening answer sheet so the listening test
    will last 40 minutes in total.

Tips for Success
  • Before the start of each section,go through the test paper carefully to get an overall
    idea about the topic.

  • Identify and note numbers,addresses and spelling which are repeated in the
    conversation with intonation.

  • If you miss a question,don't leave it .Try to attempt after you attended all other
    questions. There is no negative marking.
